Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?

Generally, AC units that have been used for more than 10 years should be replaced with newer and more effective models. The rule stipulates that if the service life of the air conditioning equipment multiplied by the repair cost exceeds $5,000, it should be replaced. If it is less than this value, the unit should be repaired. You should consult a good air conditioning repair service providers.

Try cleaning the filters and coils of the air conditioner to see if the improved airflow can solve the problem. If there is icing, you need to run the device with a fan only to melt it. If that doesn’t make the device blow cold air again, it may be that the refrigerant level is low (see below).

Should I replace my 20 year old air conditioner?

Unplug the device from the wall for at least 15 seconds, then plug it in again. Next, press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds and then release it. If the device does not start, repeat this step. If the problem is still not resolved, find the circuit breaker panel, and then try to flip the panel connected to the AC power source.
